Description
Many people rediscover traditional theology, traditional liturgy, and traditional piety. They want to go to the next step. “What books should I buy?” Dr Marshall recommends these 8-10 books as the Traditional Happy Meal:
(Includes the Following Books at a discounted rate! Limited availability!)
- 1945 Father Lasance Roman Missal
“You need the 1962 hand missal…, but everyone realizes that the 1955 Holy Week of Bugnini is inferior, and thus you also need a pre-1955 hand missal.”
- Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary
“If you want to pray the old traditional office, it can be intimidating. Traditionally, the laity prayed the Little Office instead. This the traditional format with Latin/English:”
- The Holy Bible Douay Rheims
Sacred Scripture
“Theology, Prayer, and Catechism:”
- Roman Catechism aka the Catechism of the Council of Trent
- Baltimore Catechism (set of 4 – based on growing in knowledge each level)
- The Raccolta Manual of Indulgences (Collection of Church’s Prayers)
- Summa Theologica of St Thomas Aquinas

Also mentioned in Dr Marshall’s “Happy Meal” is the 1917 Code of Canon Law. The 1917 Code in English is not easy to obtain for resale, but it can be read online here or downloaded in pdf here for free and can be printed from the pdf if desired. Dr. Marshall also originally mentioned the 5 volume Summa; however, that multivolume set is extensive, costly ($175-250+!), and not offered by a publishing partner; therefore, a more affordable and accessible abridged volume is offered above.
